MADISON, Wis. (May 20, 2009) – Scratch golfer and duffers alike will find common ground on the links May 30-31 when the sixth annual Golf Wisconsin Weekend takes place. Throughout the weekend, golfers can play nearly 50 statewide courses at discounted rates. And again this year, more than 65 hotels and resorts across Wisconsin will offer special golf-related overnight packages and/or discounts as part of the promotion. Golf Wisconsin Weekend is a unique opportunity to kick off the golf season by showcasing the state’s finest links and introducing more young people to the sport. Some of the most prestigious courses in the state are participating this year, including Lawsonia in Green Lake, Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Troy Burne in Hudson, Edgewood in Big Bend, Muskego Lakes in Muskego, Meadows of Six Mile Creek near Madison, Camelot in Lomira, Missing Links in Mequon, House on the Rock in Spring Green, Bob Burns in Appleton, Riverside in Janesville plus many others. And, for golf-playing parents in the Milwaukee area, the Milwaukee County Parks will let kids play free with a paying adult at all par-3 courses.
